We do ask for deposit for tattoo appointments to hold your appointment time. Your deposit is NOT an extra charge, it does go towards the price of the tattoo. It's just to secure your spot and not have our artists waiting around for someone who may not show up. Once the artist has all the information they need, and you've agreed on an appointment day/time, you can place your deposit on our website here.
How old to I have to be to get a tattoo?
North Carolina state law requires anyone to be at least 18 years of age to get a tattoo. You must have a state-approved photo ID, like a driver's licence, with you at the time of your appointment. You can not show me a photo of an ID. The actual ID must be present.
Can a parent or guardian sign for me to get a tattoo if I'm under 18?
No, you must be at least 18.
No exceptions
Does it hurt?
The amount of pain depends on several factors, i.e. size and location of the tattoo, state of mind (if you dwell on the pain, it will hurt). If you relax and stay calm, your body can adjust the pain to only an annoyance. There are many variances in the feeling all over the body. The "bony parts" are not always more painful than the "fatty parts." My advice, don't decide on the location based on pain, after it's all over with you'll see it probably wasn't that bad, and you'll only regret not putting the tattoo where you originally wanted.
What about safety and sterility?
Every needle is ALWAYS brand new, sterilized, and individually sealed for the best possible protection. The supplies used (such as razors, cups, and ink caps) are single-use disposable. Any remaining items are wrapped thoroughly in disposable plastic and also sterilized with antimicrobial chemical scrubs. Everything we do for sterility is for your protection as well as ours, so we don't take chances. Any artist here is inspected and licensed by the Mecklenburg County Health Department annually.

Your deposit is not an extra charge, half of the deposit will be credited towards the price of the tattoo, the other half will be a design/preparation fee, as long as the day and time as well as the artwork agreed upon remain the same. It's just to secure your spot and protect our artist's research, drawing, designing, and prep time. If you have an artist design custom artwork for you, then you change your mind and want something different after your artist puts the work into it, the full deposit will be forfeited to the artist for their work and you can choose to start over with a new design and new deposit.
All Deposits are non-refundable.
You can reschedule an appointment with at least one (1) week notice. We can either schedule a new date, or "float" the deposit until a new date can be set. Deposits can float for up to a year.
If you are not present at the agreed upon time with your state-approved photo ID, you will have a 20 minute grace period to show up at which point your deposit will be forfeited and you will have to reschedule a new appointment with a new deposit.

This evening and the next three days...
(before sleep, when you wake up, and after every 5-7 hours)
a. Wash your hands
with warm water & antibacterial soap
b. Remove bandage or plastic
You will probably have a film over your tattoo. These are natural, healing body fluids along with maybe some tattoo color. This is normal and will wash away.
c. Wash your tattoo
with warm water & antibacterial soap. Wash gently, but thoroughly, with just your clean hands.
Do NOT use wash cloth or anything abrasive
d. Dry the tattoo
with a fresh, clean towel. Pat dry, don’t wipe. Be gentle.
e. Wrap the clean, dry tattoo
with a fresh, new, clean piece of plastic wrap, like Saran ClingWrap, after washing & drying the entire area and it’s surrounding areas.
ALWAYS USE A CLEAN, NEW, PIECE OF PLASTIC WRAP
WASH & REWRAP EVERY 5-7 HOURS
f. DO NOT put any ointments or lotions under the wrap.
The plastic wrap will keep your tattoo from drying up and sticking to bed sheets or clothing. But more importantly, it protects it from exposure dirt/germs, helps prevent scabbing and will greatly speed the healing process.
(The plastic wrap may be annoying, but it’s worth it)
After the first 3 days...
a. Plastic wrap is no longer necessary
Just make sure to wash it every morning, night, every few hours, and immediately after any exposure to anything unsanitary and dirty.
And remember to KEEP ALL PETS AWAY from a new tattoo. If you have or are around pets, it’s important to keep them away from a fresh tattoo for 7-10 days. Even places where dander and hair remain are dangerous places to rest an unhealed tattoo. If anyone ever has an issue healing, they usually have pets and dander is getting into the fresh tattoo. This can easily cause an infection.
Keep it clean.
b. Use an unscented lotion
like Aquaphor or Lubriderm.
(remember, no more plastic wrap is needed at this point).
These lotions will help it feel less dry, tight and “itchy”, and promote healing. Apply just a few times a day when needed for a few weeks.
General Rules for a new tattoo
for at least 10 days...
NEVER PICK, SCRATCH OR SLAP A FRESH TATTOO!
DO NOT soak in sauna, steam or tub.
DO NOT use ointments (like Neosporin or Bacitracin) or petroleum jelly
DO NOT expose to chlorine swimming pools, lake or beach waters, and sand.
Keep tattoo covered while in the sun for the first 12 weeks (at least) & use sunblock after 12 weeks ...forever
Your tattoo should peel in about 5-7 days, then continue to heal and settle internally for 4-6 weeks.
Remember that healing may vary from person to person, so if you scab a little more or less than someone else you know, don’t be alarmed.
Any artist here is experienced and we do guarantee our work, as long as you follow OUR care instructions.
If you have any concerns or questions, please text me right away at 704-347-2521
or email me at immortalimagestattoo@gmail.com so I can guide you through the process of what to do next.
Thank you
